Advanced Manufacturing Solutions Symposium

The University of Tennessee Center for Industrial Services (UT CIS) is proud to host the first-ever Advanced Manufacturing Solutions Symposium, a match-making style opportunity to engage representatives from Manufacturing Extension Partners (MEP) Centers who are working with the Manufacturing USA Institutes.

Advanced Manufacturing Solutions will host experts in the fields of composites, additive manufacturing, light weighting of metals, and flexible electronics for instructive conversations about methods for increasing automotive manufacturing competitiveness.

This symposium is an opportunity for you and your company to learn more about the latest technology coming from the nation’s top research institutes and how these innovations can strengthen your business. At a time of global disruption, Advanced Manufacturing Solutions will give you the tools you need to stay ahead of the curve.

All buyers, suppliers, sponsors and exhibitors at Meet Your Match TN will have access to the AMS Symposium.

Registration for individuals not attending Meet Your Match TN costs $50 per person.

The following Manufacturing USA Companies will be available for meetings during the

Advanced Manufacturing Solutions Symposium:

AMERICA MAKES: As the national accelerator for additive manufacturing (AM), America Makes offers automotive manufactures AM and 3DP technology research, discovery, creation, and innovation that enables unique product benefits and manufacturing production process support. Based in Youngstown, Ohio, America Makes is the first institute within the Manufacturing USA infrastructure.

THE CLEAN ENERGY SMART MANUFACTURING INNOVATION INSTITUTE (CESMII): Based in Los Angeles, CESMII’s mission is to radically accelerate the development and adoption of advanced sensors, controls, platforms, and models for U.S. manufacturing through integrated industry-led Smart Manufacturing (SM) technical, business, and educational methodologies. Automotive manufacturers benefit from reduced costs from energy intensive applications.

THE INSTITUTE FOR ADVANCED COMPOSITES MANUFACTURING INNOVATION (IACMI): IACMI is a Knoxville-based partnership of industry, academic institutions, as well as federal, state, and local governments that are working together to become world leaders in carbon and advanced fiber materials and processes. The Institute validates automotive manufacturing technologies to meet industry needs for faster and more cost-effective material and energy-efficient composite manufacturing, including recycling at the end of product life. Advancement in the processing and manufacturing of lightweight composite vehicle components has the potential to transform automotive manufacturing.

LIFT: Operated by the American Lightweight Materials Manufacturing Innovation Institute (ALMMII), LIFT is a Detroit-based, public-private partnership committed to the development and deployment of advanced lightweight metal manufacturing technologies, and implementing education and training initiatives to better prepare the workforce today and in the future. To date, the company successfully reduced the weight of core metal parts found in cars and trucks by 40 percent, improving fuel efficiency and saving consumers dollars at the pump. LIFT is one of the founding institutes of Manufacturing USA.

NEXTFLEX: NextFlex is a consortium of companies, academic institutions, non-profits and state, local, and federal governments with a shared goal of advancing U.S. manufacturing of Flexible Hybrid Electronics (FHE). Flexible, conformable electronic systems that merge high performance with the efficiency of printed electronics offer breakthrough capabilities in controls, lighting, sensors, displays, wiring, structural components, and logic beyond today’s state-of-the-art electronic components. Also, the continued proliferation of sensors in automotive technology is enabling new applications that will transform the world’s transportation capabilities.
